 _ 2017 4th Annual Speranza Animal Rescue 5 Mile, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk Presented by Dillsburg Veterinary Center:

Speranza Animal Rescue is pleased to be hosting our 4th Annual 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk Presented by Dillsburg Veterinary Center.  Becuase the race is taking place on the rescue's FIFTH anniversary, we have decided to add a 5 Mile option to the event, as well.  There will be adoptable dogs from Speranza participating in the event with you and we will be raising money to help support the mission of rescuing the most abused and neglected animals.  This is going to be such a fun event for the whole family, avid runners or not!  We will have music, free food and drinks, awesome prizes and adoptable dogs; you won't want to miss it!

 Online Registration is available through 5/15/17, however the registration fees follow the below schedule:

1 Mile - $20 reg. through 5/1/17, then the price increases to $25
5K - $30 reg. through 1 May, then the price increases to $35
5 Mile - $40 reg. through 1 May, then the price increases to $45

You must be registrered by 5/1/17 to gaurantee a free tshirt with your registration.

7:00 PM - Bag Pick Up at Speranza Animal Rescue (1216 Brandt Road, Mechanicsburg PA) 

Saturday May 20th -

7:45-8:40 AM Race day registration and bag pick up

8:50 AM- 5 Mile Starts

8:55 AM - 5K Starts

9:00 AM - 1 Mile Walk Starts

9:45 AM - Awards Ceremony

Medals will be given for male and female ,1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the following categories:

14 and under

15-19

20-29

30-39

40-49

50-59

60+

We will also be encouraging fundraising by the event participant and will have awards for the top three fudnraing teams and top three fundraising individuals. 

We are so excited for this year's event. We have added a 5 Mile option to the race and we are using chip timing for the first time.  As always we will have adoptable dogs, free food, music and lots more fun.

There is ample parking at the park in a main paved lot and a secondary gravel lot (behind paved lot) close to the race start and end.  The 5 Mile and 5K courses will start in South Middleton Park and run the paved and gravel trails to Spring Meadow Park and back to finish at South Middleton Park.  The 1 Mile course follows a lap around the ball fields at South Middleton Park. 

Please plan to arrive in plenty of time to get your bag, register if necessary and get to the starting line at the times listed above.   There are public restrooms very close to the start/finish line.  Waivers must be signed by all participants. The waiver is included in the online registration and you will haveT to sign it in order to get your bib/goodie bag. 

This is a rain or shine event, so please dress for the weather.  Do bring your purse or wallet as there will be raffles and Speranza Animal Rescue merchandise availble for sale.

We will bring several of our adoptble dogs and Libre, so we ask that you DO NOT bring your pets.
