In commemoration of our fallen brothers and sisters in arms, the Rotary4Vets Tri-County Trot 5K/10K supports WARFIGHTER ADVANCE as it (re)launches the newly branded "ADVANCE 7-Day" intervention (training) program for veterans and active duty service members. Their program is designed specifically for those Warfighters coping with post-deployment stress and other deployment-related traumas that have adversely impacted their successful reintegration. The retreat features a drug free rehabilitation program focusing on confidence-building, outdoor activities, and group discussion using proven techniques for the self-management of systems, stressors and responses. After returning home from the battlefront, these valiant warriors struggle to recover their health; rediscover civilian life, which includes finding employment; strengthen family relationships and figuring out a place in American society. Their path is far from easy and the WARFIGHTER ADVANCE program needs community support to be successful, which is where Rotary (and you) comes in.
Rotary Club has partnered with WARFIGHTER ADVANCE and ISEPP to host this fun and worthwhile event. The Rotary Club of Lexington Park is just one of the 30,000 clubs around the globe that comprise the service organization known as Rotary International. Rotary International is dedicated to community service, peace and fellowship, and the Tri-County Trot is our way of giving back to those with unseen scars in our own communities.
