White Plains Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk...

The City of White Plains in conjunction with the White Plains BID will be hosting a 5K Run/Walk to commemorate those men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Join us as a walker, runner, marcher or spectator as we honor our Fallen Soldiers. In addition, a charitable donation will be made to the Veterans Administration Hudson Valley Health Care System-Montrose Campus. The day starts with a moment of silence and the playing of the National Anthem in front of City Hall at the start line at 8:10 am.

5K Runners and Walkers are encouraged to bring attention to their own military service, or to dedicate their participation to a friend or family member who served. Free tee shirts for the 1st 150 participants to register and awards for top runners in each age and group category. The course will start at City Hall on Main Street to North Broadway onto the Bronx River Trail and finish at Cottage Place. Timing will be tabulated by Westchester Roadrunner. The post-race activities will include refreshments, raffles and an awards ceremony. Participants and spectators are then encouraged to view the White Plains Memorial Day parade which will march along a portion of the course that the runners/walkers have just completed. The parade will conclude with a ceremony held at the Rural Cemetery, North Broadway.
