Description

We are hosting our 4th Annual Thomaston Trek 5k Walk and 5/10k Run on Sunday, June 4th with the start/finish line at the Thomaston Academy/Thomaston Public Library located at 60 Main Street in Thomaston, Maine. This fun, family-friendly event is perfect for all ages and levels of walkers or runners.

Why We Walk or Run

Trekkers is a non-profit, outdoor-based mentoring six-year program that connects young people to caring adults through expeditionary learning, community service and adventure-based education. With a community of adult volunteers working throughout the year, we provide a myriad of educational, experiential, and cross-cultural opportunities for young people, with an emphasis on relationship building and an appreciation of the earth as “educator”.

Our goal is to be a part of students’ lives from grade to grade and year to year. We follow students as they “graduate” from one program into the next along a six year journey that starts when they are in 7th grade and continues until they graduate. We serve over 200 students from six communities: Cushing, Owls Head, Rockland, South Thomaston, St. George and Thomaston, Maine.

Run, Walk and Get Donations!

Lace up your sneakers and prepare to challenge yourself! This is a great opportunity to explore the historic village streets of Thomaston, fuel your love of walking or running, and support the youth mentoring programs of Trekkers.

In addition to running or walking, you can raise money for Trekkers by asking for donations! Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers. During the registration process, you can select the option to create your own fundraising page here at Active.com. Paper pledge sheets for tracking donations collected are available.

In addition to hosting this road race/walk for the local community, Trekkers students and family members will be walking or running to help raise pledges toward their student dues.
