This is a statement written by Mary Harter, Justin's mother on April 8, 2017: "On December 8th (2016), Justin was involved in a freak accident. 72+% of his body was burned when a gas can exploded . He suffered 3rd degree on his body and 2nd on his face. His condition was critical and they referred to him as a horrific burn.  He's had multiple surgeries and has been hospitalized for 123 days as of today. He had a tracheotomy, was on a ventilator, dialysis and had a feeding tube until today. He had approximately 12-15 tubes pumping medicine, vitamins and supplements into his body. He was in a medically induced coma for a long time and then was highly medicated. Drs say he is a miracle and his heart rated dropped to 20 and he almost coded, they had to give him Epi. He is now in the rehab center of the hospital, where he will remain until he is discharged. We were told we were in for a marathon not a sprint and they were right. God's had him from the start and he's not done with him yet!" Please come out and help support this family!

Event details and schedule

Event:  8:00 am – Registration/Packet pick up, 8:30 am – 1 mile Fun Run/Walk, 9:00 am – 5 K Run/Walk.

Entry Fee:  $20 if postmarked by 5/10/2017. $25 if postmarked after 5/10/2017. Family registration $70 (pre-registration only – up to 4 runners).  Late registration and day of race is $25. If you are running both the 5K and 1 mile, the fee is $25 and the late registration fee will be $30 (1 shirt if doing both races).  No refunds.

 5K Course&1Mile Course: Flat course starting and finishing at Odum Baptist Church, 400 N.Church St.,Odum, GA, 31555.

T-Shirts:  short sleeved t-shirtswill be guaranteed to all pre-registered runners and as available on race day.

Awards: Ribbons will be given to all runners under the age of 12 in the Justin "Time" Run.  In the 1 mile Run, an award will be given to the Overall Male and Female. In the 5K, awards will be given in the following age groups: Overall male/female, Masters(over 40) male/female and top two in age groups 10 & under to 70 & over in 10 year age ranges.

Directions:  Go to Odum, Ga. on Hwy 341, turn at Church Street to cross the railroad track, go north on N. Church Street to 400 North Church St. @ Odum Baptist Church.  

Meals:  Pancake Breakfast and Hamburger Lunch will be available for $5.00 for each meal.
