5th Annual Race for the Kids-Children's Miracle Network & Willams Syndrome

Zoie Stubleski and Kelsie Cousino are young girls from Erie, Michigan who are fighting battles that many know nothing about.  Zoie is 8 years old and the daughter of Doyle & Tara Stubleski and Kelsie is 4 years old and the daughter of Andy & Jackie Cousino.  At only 6 months old, Zoie was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis and received a life saving treatment. She had an antibody deficiency in which she needed to receive a lifesaving treatment every 4 weeks at a Children's Miracle Network Hospital, St. Vincent's Memorial Hospital.  As of December 2014, the Stubleski family received the news that Zoie started producing her own antibodies.  Kelsie has a rare genetic disorder called Williams Syndrome.  Williams Syndrome affects only about 20,000 people in the United States.  Kelsie has developed aneurysms in her pulmonary arteries and has had five heart catherizations as well as a very lengthy open heart surgery.  She has been very healthy since her last surgery and will be monitored by echo cardiogram every six months to see if more surgeries are needed.  Spend one day with these girls and they will teach you the true meaning of friendship!
