This year the Knob Noster Fair 5k will begin at 7:30 am which is a little earlier than years past, but as the numbers grow, the heat also rises.  We would like to see how everyone enjoys starting a bit earlier to avoid heat and to also not run the 10 am kids games behind schedule.

As in past years we have enjoyed the route of the 5k, by starting at the mainstage located at the corner of State Street and McPherson St.  This is a fairly flat route, with just a few slight rolling bump in the road hills. Participants are allowed to bring pets on leashes. Strollers are welcomed. This is a fun family event.   The participants will run, walk, skip, crawl to the east and head towards the cemetery, go through the cemertery and then head back west on McPherson.  A slight left onto Bagby and then a quick Right onto Wimer will have you on the straight and narrow until you reach Adams street, where you'll zag a right and then zip a left back onto McPherson where you will see a swarm of happy cheerleaders rooting you across the finish line.  Snacks will await you, with plentiful water and gatorades.  We will have people doing an unofficial timing for your overall time, but don't hold us to an exact time.  We're doing our best.   You will recieve your medal and await fellow runner/walkers to finish as well.  There will be safety vehicles checking on everyone throughout the event to make sure all is well.    At approximately 9 am we will begin the childrens fun runs ( which are free)  We'll start with the 100 yard dashes and finish with the half mile.  All youth will recieve a participation token as well..  There will be some goodies given to the crowd after the 5k is over so stick around :)

After the 5 k events are over, everyone is invited to stay for the next event which is CHILDRENS GAMES at 10 am. 

Also please don't forget that the Methodist church always makes a wonderful breakfast which consists of bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits gravy, hash browns, waffles, fruit, danish, coffee, juices, and all sorts of goodies , ALL YOU CAN EAT for $3.00 YES  THREE DOLLARS!!  Makes a great carb load after a 5k and i guarentee you cannot find a more fulfilling meal for three dollars anywhere, all homemade!!!
