Take your classical music “in stride” and come out again to support the Kennett Symphony and see if you can BEAT BEETHOVEN!! This is a fun race for serious runners as well as beginners and families. The race will start with the downbbeat of Beethoven's 5th Symphony (DAH, DAH, DAH DAH!!). The objective is to finish the 5K before the Symphony finishes playing (about 32 minutes). Beethoven himself runs the race every year and always has finished with time to spare!!
Prizes are awarded for the overall winner as well as male and female winners in age categories.

Beat Beethoven 2017 will be held at Anson B. Nixon Park on Walnut Road in Kennett Square. Ample parking is available. If you have not registered in advance, on site registration opens at 5PM. The 5K starts at 6:30 and the 1 MIle Walk immediately after that. Pre registrants for the 5K and Walk will reveive a T Shirt while supplies last. The 5K course is a mix of trails and paved areas. The trails and paths wander along a stream and through picturesque shaded spots as well as some open areas. Overall the course elevation is easy-moderate with no severe incline areas.
Water will be available on the course and following the race. There will be some snacks and refreshments provided by sponsors at the conclusion of the Race.
