What:

Join LifeWay Network’s 2017 5K Race for Freedom!

Whether you want to run, jog, walk… or just cheer others on, please join us!

Registration: $40

Fundraising: We encourage all participants to set a goal of raising an additional $200 for LifeWay Network. When you register you’ll be given the opportunity to sign up as a fundraiser. A fundraising webpage will then be created for you, which you can use to promote your run and fundraising, and invite your friends to support you and make an online donation.

Why:

You’ll be supporting LifeWay Network’s anti-trafficking efforts, helping us to provide safe housing for survivors of human trafficking in the NYC area, as well as raising public awareness. LifeWay Network has just opened another safe house for women survivors, so your support is needed more than ever!

That ‘feel-good’ feeling that you’re supporting LifeWay Network and the women survivors of human trafficking that we serve.

Event details and schedule

Start & Finish Line:  

Tortoise & Hare Statue, Van Cortlandt Park (0.3 mi north of 242nd St Station on Broadway)

Parking and Transportation:

No parking is allowed in the park, but side street parking is available. MTA #1 train stops at the 242nd Street Station, close to the Start/Finish line, and Broadway is serviced by several bus lines.

Race Day Schedule:

8:00am Check-in/Packet Pick-up & Race Day Registration

9:00am Race Start

10:00am Awards Ceremony

*Note: Registrations received after 6/1/17 may not receive a T-shirt in preferred size.

Awards:

First three male and female finishers in several age categories will receive Race for Freedom medals.
