Love for Lucian 5k run/walk...

• 5K Run / Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

Lucian has been battling a rare form of cancer called ependymoma, since he was first diagnosed at two years old. He has gone through many resections (surgeries to remove reoccurring tumors), many intense cycles of radiation, and chemo. His last fight the cancer had metastasized to his spine, which is not seen in children with this type of cancer. Chemo was the last option although it is known that it does not have any success with this type of cancer. In January 2017 his mri... was clear and he was declared cancer free. But in February he started displaying signs that were all too familiar. The doc said he looked to good for it to be cancer and dismissed the worries and requests for an mri. In March, Lucian was still displaying these signs and so they pushed for an mri that week. Results of the mri showed 3 tumors on his brain stem and 2 in the previous tumor location. He has been declared terminal, having reached stage 3 ependymoma. ( ependymoma only has 3 stages). They have found an alternative treatment called hyperthermia, and are fighting to get him to a location that will treat him. All other inquires have been denied.

The Run will start at 9am saturday june 3rd. check in will be at 8:30 am at polo high school. Course info will be available on our face book event Love for Lucain 5k run/walk. parking will be in the school parking lot.  Check the weather ahead of time to have an idea of what to wear.
