The Teacher's Challenge 5K...

• 1 Mile Fun Run:- Run 1 Mile

Packet Pickup: Saturday, June 10th from 10am-4pm at Medved Running and Walking Outfitters, 3400 Monroe Avenue. This will save you precious time on an early Sunday morning, so we hope to see you on Saturday to grab your bib, t-shirt (for those who qualify), and goodies from sponsors.  McGraw-Hill Education is hosting a School Supply Drive. Bring school supplies to donate in exchange for ticket to enter a raffle for one of two gift baskets. For every ten items donated,  you will receive a raffle ticket.    

What We Are About: Organizations throughout our community are coming together to support the Rochester City School District teachers and students. This 5K Run/Walk is going to be held on Sunday, June 11th, 2017 at Durand Eastman Park. This event is hosted by ROC City Values, a non-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening core values in our Rochester kids and their families through collaborations with businesses, organizations and schools. This will ultimately benefit our communities throughout the City of Rochester. 

First Three Years:  In our first year, 2014, thanks to the 500+ participants, we were able to give out almost $8,000 in gift cards for RCSD teachers to purchase school supplies with! In 2015, with the help of several local business sponsors, incredible donators and participants, the event raised over $13,000 and had well over 500 participants once again. In year three we raised close to $20,000! This was in large part due to the continued suppport of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, McGraw-Hill Education, Wegmans, RTA, Staples, NYSCATE and other local businesses. With these funds, we were able to donate gift cards to teachers in the Rochester City School District that ranged from $100-$1,171. Wow!

With about 55 schools/programs district-wide, our mission is to raise enough funds for each program to really feel the impact of the donations. With your registration and participation in helping to spread the word about this event, we can make it happen together!

Yes, this is the "Teacher's Challenge" but please know that all ages, schools, organizations, businesses, families, friends, groups, whatever are welcome!  The first five teams to 20+ registered team members will earn a prize!

Rochester City School Programs/Buildings Team Incentive: If you are an Elementary, Secondary or Academy on the 2016-17 RCSD School List, you are eligible for TC5K event donations. Thanks to many of our local corporate sponsors, if you have 20+ participants on your team, you will qualify for a corporate sponsorship, which will bring additional donations for school supplies to your program. So, start building your team today!

Race Course: Very scenic course 5K along the paved shores of Lake Ontario, located at Durand Eastman Beach. This course is relatively flat. It winds through the lowlands of Durand Beach to provide a refreshing break from the June morning sun. PCR Timing will provide timing for each individual runner.  Medved Running and Walking Outfitters is the Race Sponsor.
