Join us for a 5K Run and Walk around Avondale.

Location:

Avondale Town Center, Forest Avenue and Reading Road, 45229.

Course:

5K Run/Walk course begins in Rockdale Ave. cul-de-sac in front of the old Fire Co. 32, Ladder Co. 12 Fire Station, winds through Avondale and ends on Washington Ave near the beautiful Fleishmann Gardens.

Course details: The race will begin in Rockdale Ave. cul-de-sac in front of the old Fire Co. 32, Ladder Co. 12 Fire Station.
West on Rockdale to Burnet Ave, south on Burnet to Erkenbrecher Ave, east on Erkenbrecher to Harvey Ave, south on Harvey to Hickman Ave, east on Hickman to Reading Rd, north on Reading to Greenwood Ave, west on Greenwood to Washington Ave, south on Washington to finish line at Fleishmann Gardens gate. There will be one water station along the course.

Race Divisions:
Run: men & women 9 and under; 10-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60- 69; 70 & up.
Walk: men & women 29 and under; 30- 39; 40-49; 50- 59; 60 & up.

Optional Teams:

Join an existing team or start your own and compete for several team awards. There is no additional cost to be on a team.

Awards:
Special awards will be given to the top male and female finishers. The top finisher in each division, fastest team average and the largest team will also receive special awards. Average team time is based on fastest four on the team (four person minimum).

After the race:
Food, refreshments and live entertainment will be available for all participants in beautiful Fleishmann Gardens Park after the race. We will have announcements of divisional winners and raffle off door prizes.

Chip Timing:
This year's race will be accurately "chip timed" using MyLaps Bib Tag technology. No need to return chips this year!

Pre-registration Fee:

Adults 13 and over: $25

Kids 12 and under: $15

Registration includes chip timing, refreshments and post-race party.

Tech Shirts:

Tech Shirts are optional and available for only $10. Register by 9/15/7 to be guaranteed to get your size.

Sleep-in option:

For those who cannot make it but would like to support the event: $30 includes a shirt.

Early packet pick up/Late registration:

Pre-registration packet pickup and late registration will take place at Gabriel's Place on Friday 10/13/2016 from 3pm-6pm. Gabriel's Place is located at 3614 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45229.

Race day registration/Packet pick up:

Register on race day at the venue from 7:00 - 8:15 am begins at 7:00 AM in the Avondale Town Center. (3529 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45229). Registration fees will increase by $5 on race day.

Parking:

Participant parking is available in the Avondale Town Center parking lot and at South Avondale School parking lot off Prospect Place.

The Avondale Running Club (ARC), founded in 1982 is one of the oldest African-American running groups in the country. ARC is a proud member of the Avondale Community Council, the National Black Marathoners Association and the 2013 recipient of the Rev. Clarence Wallace Community Partners Award for dedicated service in health and wellness in Avondale.
