Walk For Love is a 5k that will take place on June 17th, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Indy CanalWalk with kick off beginning at the Ohio Street Basin. The event is taking place in order to raise money for mental health awareness and to reduce the stigma and fears associated with mental illness. There will be guest speakers, a dj, snacks, and various self-esteem boosting stations set up at the starting line. The whole day will be dedicated to promoting love and letting those who are struggling with mental illness know that they are not alone. T-shirts ($10) and bracelets ($2) will be sold at the event as well as a $15 admission fee. You may register at the event or ahead of time on the registration website. All proceeds will be donated to local organization, Aspire Indiana, that provide services for mental health.

Event details and schedule

Event Schedule:

Check-in: 10:30 am

Guest Speakers/Kick-off - 11:00 am

Check-in info: Check-in begins at noon and will be opened through out the event. However, we strongly encourage you to be on time so you do not miss the fun kick-off! Check-in is located at the Ohio Street Basin located on the canal loop. You can register at the event check in desk as well! Look for signs guiding you to our set up area.  It will be categorized by last name in order to ensure a fast, orderly check-in process! Don't forget your photo i.d. if you are 18 or older!

Course info: The event's path will be along the entire canal loop.  You may run OR walk at the event. 

Arrival info: The event will begin at the Ohio Street Basin on the Canal Loop. Turn down Ohio Street off of West Street and follow the signs guiding you to the area. The entrance to the basin is the bridge going across Ohio Street and located directly across from the Indiana Historical Society. 

Parking info: Parking for this event is located at the White River State Park underground garage! The parking garage entrance is located between 500 W. Washington St. (Eiteljorg Museum) and 650 W. Washington St. (IMAX Theater and Indiana State Museum.) The parking should cost around $5. You can also park at IUPUI or parking meters located around the area. 

What to bring: Photo I.D. is required for adults (18+ years old)

What to wear: Active wear

It is highly encouraged you be at the check-in no later than noon so that you do not miss the awesome guest speakers and kick-off we have planned!
