As a way to honor Dave Eitrheim, M.D., a former and beloved family physician at Mayo Clinic Health System, the Firecracker 5k/1-Mile Run Walk event has transitioned to the Speedy Eity. The Speedy Eity is hosted by Dr. Eitrheim’s family and friends and is co-supported by Mayo Clinic Health System. Funds raised through this event will benefit the local community. Events are chip-timed. A one-mile and free kids fun run also are available. 

This year's event features a course (see picture below) that routes over the Red Cedar River bridge and will include additional family fun, such as music, food, Kuub and more. See details here.

Participants can pick up their race packets at Main Street Fitness, 310 Main St. E., Menomonie:

• Check in: 8:45-9:15 a.m.
• Start time: 10 a.m.
