Come join us in our inaugural year of the Iron Eagle 5K! The 3.1 mile run will begin and end at the Mendon Fire Hall The course is a fun mix of road and trail running that takes you through the heart of Mendon.
We will have a post-race celebration that includes plenty of snacks and refeshments for our runners, and lots of family fun: music, photo booths and local food trucks!
A bit about the name and reason behind this race.
For those of you who knew Shane, few words are needed because you know what a down to earth yet high-flying kind of guy he was. He was relentlessly compassionate, endlessly encouraging and an avid adventure seeker. We thought an eagle was a good representation of our brother - a regal, steely and beautiful animal that soars to great heights yet does so quietly and effortlessly. That was our Shaner. And for those that didn't know him - you've picked the right race to run and cause to support. All proceeds of the race will be donated to the Special Olympics Genesse Region. Shane volunteered at many of the events as well as helping out in the office.
