Southcliff Black & Blue Classic

• Southcliff Black Classic:- 6.8 miles

 - The Southcliff Black & Blue Classic returns on Saturday, September 2, 2017 with two race courses introduced in 2016. Both courses include much more trail and have been lengthened some so the Blue course is now 3.1 miles and the Black, 6.8 miles. Both courses are entirely contained within the private development of Southcliff.

In addition to these great courses you will still have the amazing views, gourmet post-race lunch and beer, and the most generous awards in the area.

This race is on Labor Day weekend so if you are from out of town, plan to enjoy a weekend in amazing Asheville with our famous food, beer and music.

The Black Race will start at 9:00 AM and the Blue Race at 9:05 AM at the gatehouse.

Course(s)

The 2017 Southcliff Black & Blue Classic races will be run on the courses redesigned last year.

The race names are based on ski slope classifications. The Black Course is the hardest at 6.8 miles while the easier Blue Course is 3.1 miles.

Both courses are mostly trail (think a better version of Mountains-to-Sea) with some gravel road to attach you to the trails.  Each races starts with a downhill section on pavement to separate the field before hitting the trail.
