The Inaugural 5K Run / Walk takes place on a charming, close course during the Independence Day Weekend. It starts on the west end of Town Green Park on Mill Street and turns immediately southwest onto Vienna’s lovely Church Street, a quick right onto Dominion Rd, a left onto Ayr Hill Ave, and a last quick turn onto Center St. After a few minutes on Center St., runners and walkers will turn onto Mill St with immediate access to the W&OD trail running out near Clarks Crossing Rd and then turning around and returning to the Town Green Park Finish Line. There are two major hills and a few curves as the course follows Center St past the American Legion Post 180 hall. You finish the last half mile running along the flats of Virginia’s own Washington and Old Dominion Trail.
