3rd Annual Run The Park 5k

• 3rd Annual Run The Park 5k:- Run 3.1 Miles

 - No parent is prepared to hear the words “your child has cancer,” but what happens when you have two children who are battling the disease simultaneously. This is the unfortunate reality for a local family from Delaware County who needs assistance. Helping families to navigate their cancer journey with greater clarity, dignity, normalcy and quality of life is the commitment of the HEADstrong Foundation. HEADstrong is proud to allocate proceeds from the 4th Annual Run The Park Challenge to ease the burden for this family, who has been financially paralyzed due to the overwhelming and unplanned costs associated with caring for their sick children.

On Sunday, September 17th, 2017 the HEADstrong Foundation will present the 4th Annual Run the Park 5K Challenge in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. The event will feature both a 5K race and 1M run/walk.

In addition to supporting this local family, the Run The Park Challenge will also support the expansion of Nick’s House, a family home located in Swarthmore, PA that provides complimentary lodging for families displaced to the Greater Philadelphia Region seeking potentially lifesaving cancer treatments at area hospitals. Nick’s House is a home away from home for families from all over the country, allowing them to pursue the most innovative and advanced treatments while having the comfort and embrace of a loving community when they are so far away from their own.

Last year more than 500 HEADstrong supporters came together to run/walk and make a statement in support of the cause and this year we are looking to make the event larger so that we can strengthen our commitment to improving lives affected by cancer.
