Our Get Fit Selma! DEFEAT DIABETES 5K Run/Walk and Community Fun Run/Walk is the best way to kick off our FIFTH annual Get Fit Selma! Health & Fitness Festival. We are committed to offering another great running/walking event for residents of Selma, Dallas County and West-Central Alabama! The course is paved, flat, well marked and great for beating your personal best.
Awards
$100 for 1st overall M/F; $50 for 1st Master M/F (50 years +) and then recognition by age group in five-year increments starting with age 14 and under up to 70+.

Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by Tuesday, September, 12, 2017.
5K Run/Walk

1-Mile Fun Run/Walk

This 5K race starts on Donitha Griffin Drive in front of the WCCS Gymnasium. It takes Earl Goodwin Parkway south to the first Selma Mall entrance (approx. 1 mile), circle light pole #13 and proceeds back to Earl Goodwin Park, through subdivisions on the east side of Earl Goodwin Parkway and back to WCCS for the finish line.
The 1-mile Fun Run / Walk (starting at 8:30 AM) will be a tour of the WCCS campus.
The courses will be clearly marked with directional signs as well as having volunteers to direct the runners.
The Get Fit Selma! DEFEAT DIABETES 5K Run/Walk and Community Fun Run/Walk take place at Wallace Community College Selma, locates at 3000 Earl Goodwin Parkway in Selma. Alabama.

Runner Safety
Runner safety will always be a top priority for our event.
Roller blades and pets are not allowed in the 5K Event
Use of personal musical devices is strongly discouraged at this race.
Use of baby Joggers or strollers is not prohibited but we encourage participants to start in back of the runners and walkers.
Packet Pickup
All participants may pick up their race packetson Friday, September 15, at McRae-Gaines, 2601 Marie Foster St., 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM or on race day at the Wallace Community College Gymnasium from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM.
