Come and be a part of the 5th Annual Kansas Law Enforcement - Run to Remember 5K, 10K, and 1 Mile Fun Run supporting our heroes and honoring our fallen! This event will honor those law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice and have given their lives protecting and serving their communities and to support the families they have left behind. Put together a team in memory of a fallen officer, support an agency, or register as an individual. This will be a day for everyone to pay tribute and remember.
This year the FOPA has chosen Sheep Dog Impact Assistance as the recipient organization. Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA) is a non-profit organization made up of military, law enforcement, fire & rescue, and EMS professionals – society’s protectors, our “Sheep Dogs” – and volunteers. We exist to engage, assist and empower our fellow Sheep Dogs with continued service opportunities and provide the camaraderie that may be missing after a shift or tour of duty ends. We accomplish this by offering holiday assistance, disaster response missions and outdoor adventures.
Since the Kansas Chapter's existence in 2014, we have deployed on five national disaster response missions, purchased and delivered 40 Thanksgiving meals and adopted over 30 "Sheep Dog" kids for Christmas in Topeka. We have 50 members and 45 volunteers in Kansas and have assisted two Sheep Dogs injured in the line of duty by sponsoring them to attend our outdoor adventures to rejuvenate their mind and spirit.
