As a fund-raiser Humboldt Educare, along with Arcata Main Street, will be putting on the second annual "Ugly Holiday Sweater Fun Run, " December 17th starting on the Arcata Plaza. The race will include a 1 mile run/walk for participants of all ages and a 5K for more serious runners. We will be running/walking/prancing around the Arcata Plaza with holiday cheer. There is no better way to support a local non-profit, get in the holiday spirit, and burn a couple extra holiday calories than this festive run.
Prizes will be given for the "Ugliest" sweater.
On December 17th, 2016, Humboldt Educare and Arcata Main Street will be hosting the second annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Run. The Christmas themed run consists of a 1 mi run/walk and a 5K run that begins and ends at the Arcata Plaza. The run starts at 10:00 a.m. and is complete by 11:30 a.m. The race starts and finishes at the corner of 9th and G Streets.
The course is on roads and some roads will still be open to vehicles. Runners must stay off of sidewalks and be alert for cars. Bikes, dogs, skateboards, and scooters will not be allowed.
Make sure and wear your ugliest holiday sweater. Prizes will be given for the “Ugliest Sweaters.” If you don’t have an ugly sweater you can make your own at our packet pick-up locations for a donation. You must bring your own sweater or shirt.
Packet pick-up will be located on the Arcata Plaza during Arcata Main Street’s Season of Wonder and Light Celebration. You can also register or pick-up your packet at the starting line the morning of the race from 8:30am to 9:30am.
