Thank you for another amazing year, you all persevered and finished well. As I promised at the race start, we are going to push the envelope for our 8th year in 2017. We are setting a goal of 343 runners (one for each FDNY fire fighter lost on 9/11). We will also be recruiting for members of our armed services to make a large presence during the run in 2017.
We are committing to you to have the following for next year:
Free Finisher's Shirts
Event Medals (DogTags) for all events
Belt Buckle for anyone doing 100 miles in 24 Hour Race
50 Mile Dog Tag Medal for anyone completing 50 miles in 24 Hour or 9 Hour 11 Minute Run
"Ultra Marathoner" Dog Tag for anyone going longer than 26.2 miles in 24 Hour or 9 Hour 11 Minute Run
We are also changing the start format to offer a greater tribute to the timeline of the day and a more ceremonial way to honor all those lost on 9/11 (details below).
We would like to invite you to help in the process of making this the best event of its kind. So please invite your friends- invite your church groups, co workers and commit to going farther than you did last year.
