The Jennie Stuart Health (JSH) Summer Salute 5k will begin at 8:30am, on Saturday August 19th.  JSH supports local area high schools by providing a comprehensive sports medicine program.  

All proceeds raised through the race go directly to buying sports medicine supplies for local area high schools.

Our race is part of the Hopkinsville Summer Salute Hoptown Pre-Eclipse Festival.  On Monday August 21st will be the viewing for the solar eclipse.  All throughout the weekend will be the Summer Salute festivities. There will be plenty of activities for all ages, kids zone, car show, live music, Eclips Con and fireworks. We suggest you come for the 5k and all of the fun festivities throughout the weekend.

If you register on or prior to August 7th, registration is only $20 and you are guaranteed a t-shirt, on August 8th and after the fee will rise to $25 and no guarantee of a shirt.

Event details and schedule

The race will begin promptly at 8:30am on August 19th. Pre-Registered packet pick up and late registration will be at the Farmer’s Market on the corner of 9th and Bethel St., in downtown Hopkinsville from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday August 18th.  Race Day Registration runs 7:00-8:00 am in the same location. Awards to be handed out at the conclusion of the race.

The course for the JSH Summer Salute will be the same as last year.  Most of it will follow the new Rail Trail that was recently completed.  We are still seeking a suitable spot to host the start/finish line for the race, but plan on it being near the corner of 9th and Bethel by the Farmer's Market.

The JSH Summer Salute 5k run is not a professional event, so feel free to bring the entire family out for a fun run.  

Please note, a t-shirt will only be guaranteed to those who pre-register on or before 8/07.

A trophy will be given out to the overall winner, while 1st and 2nd place medals will be given to the following age groups.
