CARC Color Splash n Dash 5K...

Come out and join the fun! CARC is hosting its 3^rdAnnual  Color Splash n Dash on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Lake Charles Civic Center Amphitheatre. Last year was a great time and we are excited for another wonderful event! Tell your family and friends and register to walk or run to help support CARC, a private, non-profit organization. The proceeds from this Color Splash n Dash will directly support our work to provide opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to live the fullest life possible.

Event details and schedule

Event Schedule:  Registration begins at 7:00 am.  Run/Walk begins at 8:00 a.m..  

Course information:  The race begins on Bord du Lac Drive near the Lake Charles Civic Center Ampitheatre. Participants will start off to the right, on Bord du Lac Drive, going around the back of the ampitheatre, then turning on Gill Street. Turn right on Lakeshore Drive, which will change to Shell Beach Drive. Enjoy the beautiful view of the lakefront and historical homes! Continue past the intersection of Lake Street at Shell Beach Drive until you see the orange cone right after passing Barbe Street. Turn around and journey back to the finish line, turning left at Bord du Lac Drive and walking around the back side of the Ampitheatre to the finish line!

If you choose to make it a 3K activity, turn around at the corner of Foster St. and Shell Beach Drive!

This exciting event is fun for the whole family! Along the route you will get splashed from head to toe in different colors. Everyone is a winner! The CARC Color Splash n Dash 5K is not a timed event. At the end, there will be music, face painting, balloon animals, and more color!

-          Team Discount $27 (A team of 4 or more receives a 10% discount per team)

Children 10 and under (Limit 2 with paid adult): FREE

(Children will not receive a t-shirt, color packet, bandana or sunglasses). You may buy your child a t-shirt for $10. The t-shirts must be ordered and paid for by August 25.

Prices include T-shirt, race bib, a color pack, neon sunglasses, and bandana, if registered by August 25, 2017.

August 26 – September 15

-          Individual with a disability $25

-          Individual $35

-          Team Discount $31.50 (minimum 4 per team)

Children 10 and under (Limit 2 with paid adult): FREE

(Children will not receive a t-shirt, color packet, bandana or sunglasses).

Children 10 and Under

-          Each child needs registration form completed.

-          Each child will receive a race bib to participate.

-          T-shirts are available for purchase. (Quantities are limited.)

No Refunds. Registration is non-transferable.

Packet Pick-Up

Registered participants must present photo ID and confirmation receipt from active.com for packet pick-up. Proxy pickup is allowed for immediate family members, husband/wife/sibling, with identification.

Hydration Station & Medical Aid

Two water station will be well stocked and supported by Citgo volunteers along the route. First Aid station is located near Registration tables.

Shirts

Shirts are provided and sizes guaranteed to registered participants of CARC Color 5K who met registration deadline of August 25. Neither shirts nor shirt sizes are guaranteed to those who register after August 25.

Weather

The races will be held rain or shine. If there is lightning in the area, the race will either have a delayed start; route may be altered, or depending on the intensity of the weather, be cancelled.  The Race Director will make the determination.

Lost and Found

CARC is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Lost items that were found and turned in will be returned to the First Aid table after the event. Items not identified or requested end of event will be donated to local non-profit agency.
