AMNA 5K RUN/WALK FOR A CHILD

A Nationwide Walkathon organized by the Africa Missions North America.

 We are very excited to invite you to join this year's Africa Missions North America, (AMNA) Walkathon.

The purpose of AMNA Walkathon is to raise money that will enable us to address the need of vulnerable populations particularly children in Africa.

From West Africa countries of Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Guinea Conakry to the Central Africa Republic of Congo and the South Africa country of Swaziland, AMNA is working in 14 impoverished nations. According to UN Sustainable Development Goals, in all these countries at least 60 percent of the populations live on less than $2 a day.

It is not enough that we feed them or provide for their immediate needs.  AMNA looks beyond charity and pursue programs with emphasis on sustainable development, such as: education, skill development of the economic excluded, especially CHILDREN & WOMEN, and training leaders who would sustain whatever gains we make.

AMNA is one of the most efficient organization in the nonprofit sector, spending close to 100 percent of money we raise on direct services. AMNA depends on small donors for its operations as we have never sought nor received donations from government or large corporations.

Event details and schedule

The event is scheduled to start at 8:00am. Please start out early to arrive on time. The Run/Walk will take place inside the Sugar Land Memorial Park, which offers a secure open ground at this time of the year in Houston.

Although the car parking space inside the park is limited we are working on partnering with the Houston University to use their ground for parking. Being a Labor Day weekend, students and faculties are out of school. We will update you as soon as this is done through this page and your personal email left during registration.

Please bring your ID and registration information with you with the page that has bar code. Do not forget your walking/running shoes. T-shirts are picked up on the day of the event.

You would notice that we have a waiver of release of liability. However we have been diligent and have taken reasonable precautions to ensure that the event would be a fun day and a momorable one for you.

We intend to have some music and fun time immediately after the event. Some part of the consession stand are cash buy only but a bottle of cold water is included in a free offer.
