Description

The 21st annual Adirondack Marathon Distance Festival offers the small-town charm of this mountain town community with races and activities for the entire family. Hosted in Schroon Lake, NY, the Marathon, Half-Marathon and 2 & 4 Person Relay follow the shores of this 9-mile long, crystal clear lake, along two-lane country roads through the Adirondack Forest Preserve as the green leaves give way to fall’s vibrant colors. The course has a few challenging climbs in the first half of the marathon, but runners will be rewarded with a flat and fast stretch along the lake and million-dollar views of the Adirondack high peaks to the north: It’s probably the most beautiful 26.2 miles you’ll ever run. For those who prefer shorter challenges, visit neighboring Chestertown on Saturday morning to tackle our 5K and 10K races, or sign your youngsters up for our 1K Kids Run at 2pm Saturday in the Town of Schroon.
