Our mission is to honor Kellie Thompson Shiley’s competitive spirit and love of physical fitness, family, and friends by holding an annual 5k and Family Fun Run on Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore.
Kellie Thompson Shiley was just 31 years old when she unexpectedly passed away after complications from giving birth to her twin daughters in July of 2012. She also left behind a loving husband and now 6 year old son. She was a one of a kind person who touched so many lives and continues to inspire many. She was an accomplished scholar-athlete, trusted and hysterical friend, determined and driven co-worker, loving and supportive sister, aunt, and daughter, loyal cousin and niece, and most importantly amazing wife and mother. Her strength, sense of humor, and voice are unforgettable.
Holding an annual event in her honor that combines so many of her loves is just one way for those who knew her or her story to annually celebrate her life. Half of all proceeds will go towards the Kellie Thompson Shiley Trust which has been created for the benefit of Kellie's three wonderful children. The other half of the proceeds will be 5013(c) tax deductible and will benefit the newly established Kellie Thompson Shiley Scholarship Fund.
The Kellie Thompson Scholarship monies will used to provide financial aid to eligible student athletes at St. Mary's High School in Annapolis, MD. Eligible athletes must exhibit Kellie's tenacity on the athletic field, as well as meet academic achievement requirements. We hope you will support this mission and event that means so much to so many.
