The 2017 Phoenix Global Energy 5K | 10K is excited to announce our new home at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, home of Arizona State Baseball! Both the 5K and 10K routes will begin and end at the stadium parking lot.   

Phoenix is one of five lucky cities in the U.S. that will be participating in this global movement. Global Energy race is for everyone: competitive runners, casual walkers, families, friends, and everyday joggers looking to come out and participate in Bimbo's Healthy active lifestyle initiative. The event will include music, motivational speakers, scenic routes, a cool down recovery zone, refueling snacks, games for all ages, Osito and much more!

Volunteers:

If you are unable to run in our race we can always use your help and support along the course and finish line! We are looking for volunteers to help at water stations, cheer stations, finish line (medal and post-nutrition handout), etc. If you're interested in volunteering for community service hours and/or to be part of a Global event, please reach out to: [email protected]

Will be offered on two days at: Road Runners Sports (Tempe location)

Times: Friday, September 22nd (4:00pm-7:00pm)

           Saturday, September 23rd (2:00pm-5:00pm)

Course Info:

The 10K is a USATF certified course. Chip timing will be used for this distance.

The course will take you along Papago Park and Papago Golf Course, with stunning views of the famous Hole-In-The-Rock at Papago Park! After reaching the end of Galvin Parkway, 5K runners will return on the out and back course while 10K runners will connect with the Arizona Cross Cut Canal.  Along the Canal, runners will pass by the Desert Botanical Gardens providing great scenic views.

Parking:

Free parking is available onsite at the parking lots across from Municpal stadium. 

*Due to the common start/finish line and the close proximity of the parking lots we will not be offering a gear check or bag/key drop for this event. Please make sure to leave all valuables inside your vehicle. 

Registration:

All participants will receive:

• Global Energy commemorative running shirt
• Drawstring bag
• Cooling towel
• Post-race refueling sandwich, complimentary recovery zone, & other fun giveaways 
• Custom finisher's medal upon completion (10K & 5K)

* Awards will be given to the top (3) male and female 10K finishers only 

10K FIRST PLACE PRIZING 

Male and Female first place 10K winners will receive a trip for two to Rio de Janeiro to run in the 2018 Global Energy Race! 

A trip for award recipient and one (1) guest to participate in the 2018 Global Energy Race scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Trip includes round-trip international coach air transportation for award recipient and one (1) guest from major gateway airport nearest award recipient’s residence (as determined by Promoter) to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, two (2) nights standard hotel accommodations (one (1) room, double occupancy), ground transportation to/from airport/hotel and hotel/race location, registration for winner and guest to participate in the 2018 Global Energy Race, and breakfast, lunch and dinner for winner and guest while on trip (exact location and cost of each meal to be determined by Promoter and its subsidiaries, in their sole discretion).

Challenge begins 6/16/17 at 12:00 a.m. PT, and ends 9/24/17 at 7:30 AM PT. Open to individuals who are 13+ and legal residents in their jurisdiction of residence and are eligible to participate in the challenge or any race. Eligible minors will be required to have their parent’s or legal guardian’s execute a Global Energy Race participant release on their behalf prior to being eligible to participate.
