22 mile and 8 mile trail races on lovely single track through old growth forest in the South Fork Skokomish River Valley. Entire course is runnable (fast, if you like). 8 mile is out and back, while 22 mile is lollipop loop. Long course fords the river twice (usually ankle deep), and passes 2 historic trail shelters. Enormous firs and maples shade much of the trail, which is smooth and fast for most of the race. 2 miles of fast primitive dirt road is traveled on the long course. Numerous aid stations on course. Awards for top three males and females in both races. Camping nearby. Free entry for 18 and under. Great place to spend the last Saturday of summer.
Races start at 9:00 AM. Arrive early to pick up bib number. Dayt of race registration begins at 7:30 AM. Parking available on nearby forest roads for free, recreation pass required to park at TH. Camping available a Brown Creek CG or dispersed nearby.
