The Fayetteville-Cumberland Glow Fest: a Fun Run

 Mission

 The Fayetteville-Cumberland Youth Council (FCYC) is a youth-led organization which serves as a voice for the youth while it works to better its community: the Fayetteville-Cumberland area.  The organization’s name embodies the partnership between both the city of Fayetteville and county of Cumberland. Such a grand union between the administrations is a model of the cooperation and progress the organization hopes to incite. The FCYC is appreciative of the support it has received from its founders, and wishes to demonstrate the abilities of the organization to coordinate a community-wide event that will raise awareness and funds for current and future FCYC-sponsored events.

Event

 On September 16, 2017 the Fayetteville-Cumberland Youth Council will host the Second  “Glow Fest: RUN/WALK/SKIP”. FCYC urges everyone to “Spark the Change” in their community. Participating in the Glow Fest affirms your support of the youth in your community and the change they work towards. 

WHY this event?

 §  Providing our community with an opportunity to promote health and wellness for all

§  Providing a safe environment with awesome entertainment for teens in their own backyard
§  Networking
§  We as a youth organization would like to make our own money to continue to represent our council on a state and national level

Event details and schedule

6:30pm Pre-Race party with music, dancing, warmup stretching/runner check-in

8:00pm Main Event: 5k Run - Registration includes race entry, glow packet, finishers medal and race shirt. (Guarunteed shirt deadline is August 31st, 2017)

8:30pm Awards

The Glow Fest will start at Festival Park, will run arond Iron Mike at the Airborne Museum and run through the streets of Downtown Fayetteville.
