4th Annual Remembrance Run/Walk...

• 5K Run:- Run 3.1 Miles

This event was created to commemorate those that we lost, those that stepped up, and those that continue to fight on and after the events of September 11^th 2001. We also created this event so that the people of the community and surrounding areas could dedicate the day to someone in their lives that is their hero in any way. Everyone picks someone they are running in honor of, or in remembrance of, and designs their shirt for them. After the race we have homemade food and a raffle. Food, t-shirt, raffle, and medal are all included in the registration fee.

This year we are honoring NY State Trooper Brian Falb for his participation in search and rescue efforts after the September 11^thterror attacks.  Brian’s passing from brain cancer on March 13^th 2017, was directly related to exposure to toxic air during the response to the September 11^th 2001 terror attack at the World Trade Center.

Event details and schedule

The siren blows at 10am to start the race. It is a mixure of trail and pavement. Jogging strollers are welcome but please be aware there are some roots and narrow paths in parts of the course. There are bathrooms at the start. We do a small ceremony at 9:45am before the start of the race. Due to the start and finish line being in different locations - there is a shuttle bus to bring people back to their cars from the finish line. There is an optional section on the course dedicated to law enforcement which is a set of old stairs on the trail portion of the course.
