Angel Park – a new all-inclusive playground and amphitheater facility in Perry Hall, MD has a very real and personal meaning to members of our community. The name was purposely chosen to represent a vision of an ideal setting for happiness and reflection.

Angel Park began from an idea that came to Kelli and Andy Szczybor after the loss of their baby boy, Ryan. From a sad origin, a bright and life affirming idea emerged – to build a place for laughter, activity and fun, for families and friends throughout the surrounding neighborhoods.

Angel Park incorporates the designs and ideas of local children and artists. It was built and supported by the community and provide a unique destination to be enjoyed by all families for years to come. It’s more than a memorial park; it’s a special place for children, families and friends.

Registration:

Entry Fees:

5k:

$25 for registrants ages 11 and up until August 7th, $30 after August 7th including race day
$20 for registrants ages 10 and under until August 7th, $25 after August 7th including race day

1 Mile Walk:

$10 for all ages until August 7th, $15 after August 7th including race day

The event will be held rain or shine, and entry fees are non-refundable.

Course:

 

The 5K run will be an out-and-back course starting and finishing at Angel Park. Runners will exit the park and turn right onto Honeygo Boulevard heading toward Belair Road. Runners will turn right onto Forge Road to head toward the turnaround point (near Anvil Court). After turning around at this point, runners will backtrack and head back the same way they came to end up at the finish at Angel Park.

The 1 Mile Walk will consist of an out-and-back course on paved surfaces.

Awards:

• Top 3 overall male and female runners
• Top male and female runners in each of the following age groups: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+

Amenities:

Race shirts will be guaranteed to all 5k and 1 mile participants who register by August 4th (sizes and availability cannot be guaranteed after the 4th). Water stations out on the course and at the finish, as well as course marshals guiding you on the route.

Packet Pickup:

Packets will be available for pick up on Saturday, August 12 from 12-4 PM at the Weis Supermarket Cafe. Packets will also be available on race day (Sunday, August 13) beginning at 7 AM.

Parking:

Race parking will be available in the Perry hall Park lots (directly across the street from Angel Park). Police will monitor the crosswalk to allow participants to make their way to and from the start/finish area at Angel Park.
