The Portland Marathon includes a Marathon, Half Marathon, Kid’s Fun Run & Festival, 3-day Event Directors College, and 2-day Sports & Fitness Expo in October in Portland, Oregon.

The 46th Portland Marathon will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2017. The Portland Marathon has an abundance of live entertainment and music along the course. Last year, over 74 groups entertained at 53 locations along the course. The course traces a route that embraces the many faces of this beautiful and friendly city. It includes the scenic riverfront, historic Old Town and various residential neighborhoods. Runners are treated to broad panoramas of the entire city the waterfront, a 3-mile bluff on the east side of Portland, and a dramatic view and crossing of the St. Johns Bridge, one of the most beautiful suspension bridges in the world.

Sports & Fitness Expo – Hilton Portland (921 SW 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97204): Packet pickup

The packet includes timing chip, bib number, souvenir program and assorted items. The Expo focuses on health and demonstrations, sports medicine and fitness programs, innovative fitness clothing, shoes and training aids and periodic free lectures by noted specialists. The Expo is also the place to buy your Portland Marathon souvenirs, and the sign-up for the Clydesdale/Bonnydale division ($5 cash fee).

Portland Marathon Kid’s Fun Run & Sports Festival
The Portland Marathon Kid’s Fun Run & Sports Festival will take place Saturday. Participation is open for kids’ ages 2-12, and parents are invited to run along with! Last minute sign ups may be available at the Expo Friday!

Portland Marathon & Portland Marathon Half!
NO DAY OF RACE PACKET PICKUP OR ENTRY

6:00 a.m.

Runners use the map on the back of your bib to find your starting corral. Please arrive early so you have time to use the facilities.

6:55 a.m.

Runners and walkers join together to sing the National Anthem

6:59 a.m.

Wheelchair race begins

7:00 a.m.

Marathon Run/Walk and 1/2 Marathon Run/Walk begins as a multiple wave start.

7:30 a.m.

The last wave should be crossing the starting line!

Post Race:

Half and Full Marathoners will pick up their long-sleeved finisher shirts as they go through the finish chute process. Show your running number to receive your official marathon finisher’s shirt (no exchanges) and other goodies. In the finish area Marathon walkers and runners will be presented with a special Northwest tree seedling, a rose, and other special finisher’s items. They may also have their photo taken before exiting the enclosed finish area.
