A Day in the Country is the community festival held on the grounds of the 1852 Chapel of the Cross on the first Saturday in October.  It draws more than 10,000 visitors annually with families enjoying food, music, artisans, crafts, tours of the Chapel, Barbecue Cook-Off, the famous 63-Egg Cake and children’s games and rides and 5K Run & Walk.

Event details and schedule

Check in begins at 6:30 AM, 5K Run starts at 8:00, 5K Walk starts at 8:01, One Mile starts at approximately 9:00.
Parking is available on Gluckstadt Road, near starting line. Look for signs.

Awards in Run & Walk: Overall, Masters & Grand Maters and top 3 in ten year age groups. 
One Mile: Overall and Top 3 in two year age groups under 12

Course starts on Gluckktadt Road for first mile then uses Reunion Subdivision trails for the final two miles and finishes behind Chapel of the Cross.
