Thunderpants 5K

• 5K Run/Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

 - The first annual Thunderpants 5K walk/run event takes place at Autumn Ridge, CDHR's farm! This family friendly country race route wraps around the outskirts of the farm where you will enjoy the views of majestic draft horses during peak fall foliage season. The final stretch of the 5k is down the center of the farm, passing the infamous Teddy Mack von Thunderpants himself and his friends to the finish line. There, you will be able to attend our annual Oktoberfest featuring many local vendors, food, crafts. Also (weather-permitting) a carriage ride with Spencer and Oliver, our resident Percherons.

Early packet pick-up (encouraged) Friday, October 20th 6pm-8pm at Autumn Ridge.  Signs will be posted for parking and pick-up areas  Waivers must be signed in order to pick up packet.  

Parking on the day of the race-There will be parking available and volunteers directing you where to park. 

Course description:  First annual FUN trail run/walk 5K mostly flat course, 7 trail loops around Autumn Ridge, ending with run down center of rescue to the finish line. 

There will be an aid station 1/2 way around the 0.4 mile loop as well as the end of the race.

9:00AM Run begins

10:00 AM Walk begins

11:00am Octoberfest!!!!! 

All proceeds will benefit Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue (CDHR), Inc., an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of draft horses that were bound for slaughter, in addition to victims of starvation, neglect, or abuse whose owners are unable to provide for their needs. To date, we have rescued more than 70 horses and adopted many to loving new homes.
