On Sunday, September 24, The Pohlschneider family will host the fourth annual Fight for Your Life 5K Run/Walk. In remembrance of Emily Pohlschneider-Edwards’ fight with a rare women’s cancer, the Fight for Your Life 5K is hosted at French Prairie Gardens, Emily's family farm in St. Paul, just south of the Portland Metro area. The funds raised through the event will be granted to families in the midst of fighting cancer.
“Fight for Your Life is an event for everyone as Emily was all about family,” said Karren Pohlschneider, owner, French Prairie Gardens & Family Farm and mother of Emily Pohlschneider-Edwards. “From sliding down our huge slides, to feeding the farm animals to running through our flat farm fields the event really does offer something for all ages.”
What: Fight for Your Life 5K Run/Walk & Family Farm Festival, complete with farm animals, obstacle courses, slides and much more! Packet pick-up opens at 8:30 am followed by a chipped 5K run/walk at 10:30 am. A free 800-meter kids dash follows the finish of the 5k race for kids of all ages.
Why: To honor Emily’s battle with cancer and her dedication to her daughter and family. Funds raised from the event will be granted to families in the midst of their own cancer fight. To nominate a family in need, visit www.EmsFight.org.
