Tour Summary:

Autumn is a special time in New York City with cooler weather, golden autumn leaves, walks in Central Park, the annual Halloween parade, and more. But as a runner, the coming of Autumn brings excitement and anticipation for the world’s largest marathon. The 26.2 mile race course runs through all five boroughs giving runners the unique opportunity to experience New York City’s diversity all together in one day.

Although much of the course is flat there are many inclines, hills and bridges throughout the race that makes the course quite challenging. This running tour will take you through the last 5 miles of the race. It will begin in Harlem at the marathon’s 21 mile mark, and will run south on 5th Avenue, into Central Park, Central Park South, finishing just past Tavern On The Green in Central Park  which is where the actual marathon finishes.

This tour is less about sightseeing and more about the run and the course. You might be running the marathon and would like a partial course preview or you might be visiting New York and want to see where 50,000 runners will run on marathon day. This run tour is offered for a limited time so be sure to book early!

We will meet at Harlem Hospital - 98 W 135th St. New York, NY 10037, by the 2/3/5 subway entrance. Our run will end in Central Park near the Tavern on the Green.

What to Expect

This is a group running tour that will be led by a licensed NYC sightseeing guide who is also a certified running coach. To insure no one is left behind and that all can hear the guide we will run at an easy, conversation pace. We will make periodically stops to view and discuss notable points of interest throughout the tour. You should be able to comfortably run 5 miles for this tour. The duration of the tour is approximately 1 1/2 hours. Although your guide will run with a backpack and can store small items for you such as phones or keys, we recommend bringing very little on the tour. As always, it's important to stay hydrated during a run, so please bring a small bottle of water. We will begin our tour right at the scheduled start time, however if you are running late please be sure to email or phone us no later than 15 minutes prior to the start. Travel to and from our tours is usually fastest via subway, so please bring a MetroCard.
