Jiminy Stitch-It's Run With the Zombies...

• 5K Run:- Run 3.1 Miles

Dream Team Events and Jiminy Stitch-It have summoned Zombies, and the living, to participate in this event to help us raise funds for the San Jose Parks Foundation!

This is a 5K race (well, it’s really a “Fun Run” but race sounds way cooler).  For you Zombies that have been underground for a while, 5K is 3.1 miles.

• You can Run it or Walk it!
• This is a “Run with the Zombies” event.  Zombies and Runners run side by side (Zombies aren’t chasing runners!)
• This is a Family friendly event.
• Swag?! You bet….T-Shirts and medals for all participants. Trophies for Zombie contest winners and trophies for selected finish line finishers, and team trophies.
• If you wanna sleep in a little longer on race day you can pick up your race packet before the race  at the Thearapy store in campbell Wednesday October 26 noon to 9pm at 347 east Campbell av.
• You’re going to get race bibs but no timing transponders (most Zombies can’t tell time… Duh!)
• Yes, we will have Zombie Make-up artist on site! (show up early and don’t forget to stash some extra cash in you shock to help support our starving Zombie Artist)
• Leave your pets at home.  Pets and Zombies don’t always do well together.

We will have a bike corral and a sweat check at no cost for all participants.

Event details and schedule

First and foremost, Have fun!  You can Run, Walk, or even Crawl if ya want!  This is a non-timed family friendly fun run so there is no pressure here and no one is being chased by Zombies… just have fun!   (hence the name “Run With” the zombies). 

 Every entry comes with a free awesome shirt (thanks to Jiminy Stitch-It) and a way cool medal 

When:  October 28th

Where: Kelley Park 1300 Senter rd. San Jose. 

Time line:

-6:00 am:  Gates, Make-Up, Sign-Ins open.   If you already picked up your number, then you don’t need to go through sign-ins.  Just hang at the start.

-8:05 Make up booth closes, and the Zombie contest begins

-8:25 Announce Zombie contest winners

-8:40 U-Jam warms ya up with some cool dancing!

-9:00am the run begins!

Course Info:

- the course is 5K (3.2 miles)

-99.9% level with a couple of slight inclines.

-The first 1.6 miles is in the streets.  We are mandated to reopen the streets at 10am.  Don’t worry that’s a whole hour from the start.  That’s plenty of time even for the slowest lollygagging stumbling Zombie.

-there will be water for ya at 1.6 miles

-the rest of the run is through beautiful Kelley park!  All paved trails until ya hit the dead orchard at 2.3 miles. At this point you have the choice to run the dirt road to the finish or take a .9mile shortcut vie the  by-pass.  The by-pass is all on paved trail  (It may be more stroller friendly than the dirt road)

Event Parking:

Due to multiple events going on that day Parking is at a premium.  In the past we have tied to keep the parking free but this year our only option for official Zombie Run Parking is at the Happy Hallow Parking lot 1300 senter rd.  The good news is it’s closer the start line (about a 10 min walk).  The not so good news is the Parks department charges $10.  We encourage public transportation or ride your bike.  There will be a free Bike corral and a free coat check.
