Come and run where the dinosaurs once roamed, and join us for our annual fundraiser 15K/8K Recharge Run! Your entry fee includes a one-year membership to the Friends of Government Canyon (membership does not include free entry to GCSNA), race t-shirt, a well-marked, well-supported course with well stocked aid stations. After the race enjoy delicious post-race food and refreshments!
The 15K/8K Recharge Run benefits the Friends of Government Canyon, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that raises funds and provides volunteer services to help maintain, preserve, and protect Government Canyon State Natural Area.

IMPORTANT NOTICE Due to impact on the Natural Area the race will be capped at 300 participants. In the event of rain, the race will be ran on the roads of GCSNA. Sorry No Refunds
AWARDS
New for 2017! Finishers Medals for everyone who crosses the finish line. This race is chip timed. Special awards will be given to overall and masters M/F in each race. Age group awards will be given in 10 year increments (19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over)
COURSE
15K runs through the hilly and rocky Backcountry on the Recharge, Far Reaches, Sendero Balcones, Little Windmill and Joe Johnston trails. A very challenging course with amazing views.
8K runs through the beautiful Frontcountry on the Savannah Loop and Lytle's Loop. An easy to moderate trail that is great for beginners and walkers.

PARKING
Due to limited parking at the Natural Area, parking for all participants (with the exception of TPWD Park Pass holders) will be at Folk Middle School, Just past the entrance to GCSNA. Shuttles will run from 6-11am. For map please visit our website. www.friendsofgc.org/race
