Cahaba Medical Care is a non-profit Community Health Center with locations in Centreville, Woodstock, Maplesville, Bessemer, and Birmingham, AL. Founded in July 2004, we are celebrating 13 joyful years of service to people of Bibb and Perry County and Central Alabama. Our Woodstock office is located at the intersection of AL-5 and US-11. Additionally, all proceeds from the race will go towards the Woodstock Senior Nutrition and Activity Center that is currently under construction.
The race itself starts and ends at Woodstock Elementary School, passes through the forested area behind the school that makes up the Woodstock Walking Trail and proceeds down Eastern Valley Road to the Woodstock Community Library and back. We will have liberal hydration stations along the path. Come out and enjoy a crisp, autumn morning.
The 5k welcomes all ages and all skill levels. Feel free to race hard for your age-group prize, or feel free to walk or jog your first 5k with other first-timers. (Note that the running is friendly and competitive... but the walking is not competitive with no age-group awards). The <1 mile fun run is geared towards kids and will follow the 5k, and will start at the 5k finish line - Woodstock Elementary School.
Finally, the event will help to kick off the 1st Woodstock (AL) Music Festival... there will be numerous on-site vendors following the race... 14 hours of live entertainment, great southern food, and a good ol’ country throwdown...hosted by the Town of Woodstock!
