About The Race

The Callie The Labrador "Live Like Callie" Memorial Run & Walk for Paws was created to celebrate the life of a very special dog who made friends wherever she went and enhanced the lives of everyone who came into contact with her. Callie passed away on January 26th 2017 and her family wanted to do something to commemorate her spirit. The Run and Walk for Paws will benefit two of Callie's favorite organizations; Labrador Lifeline, who assist families with labradors needing medical attention with treatment and vet bills, and Feeling Fine Canine Rescue, a wonderful rescue based in Loxahatchee, FL, who rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs who find themselves on death row at the county shelter.

This is a fun family race on a USATF sanctioned course around beautiful Nova Southeastern University campus. It is great for everyone from serious runners to those who rarely get out of their chair. Run or walk, form a "Pack" (team) and come celebrate the bond between people and their dogs. Before and after the race, participants can enjoy vendors, food and beverages, entertainment and our very popular Nesquik Protein Family Fun Zone!

CHARITY TEAMS : if you would like to raise some funds for your own favorite dog-related charity, this is a great way to do it. Simply create a team, grab some friends, family or co-workers, and $5 from your registration fee will be donated to the rescue of your choice. You can either set the team up yourself (it's easy - just follow the instructions on the registration page!) or if you would rather have us do this for you, please email [email protected] with the words "team set up" in the subject heading.

After The Race please stay to enjoy our post-race celebrations, vendors, fun activities and meet some adorable adoptable dogs looking for a forever home just like yours.

THIS IS A USATF-SANCTIONED, CHIP TIMED EVENT! All participants receive a finishers medal. Awards will be given to the top three overall men and women, and then will be given to the top three finishers in the following age categories:

Under 12, 12-16, 17-24, 25-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71-80, 80+

Packet pick up will be on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th November, time TBD

This is Florida, so it's sometimes quite hot. Please make sure to wear sunscreen, breathable clothes, and, if it's very sunny, consider a hat. We will be providing water stations during the race but please make sure that you are adequately hydrated before and after the event.
