The Inaugural Gator Trail Race and Hike kicks off November 11, 2017. Choose between 5K, 5 Mile or the Half-Marathon to test your limits while exploring the natural beauty of old Florida. 100% of the proceeds from this event will directly benefit the Tanah Keeta Scout Reservation and scholarship camp fund for deserving local youths in our community.

THE LOCATION

The Inaugural Gator Trail Race and Hike at the Tanah Keeta Scout Reservation is located near Jupiter/ Tequesta in Martin County and includes 640 acres along the south edge of Jonathan Dickenson State Park and on the Loxahatchee River – a State of Florida Historic Trail. Deeded to the Boy Scout Council in 1953 the property is home to the Gulf Stream Council, year round Boy Scout programs. The Gator Trail Race and Hike mostly follows the Mike Machek Trail through the heart of Tanah Keeta where you will find almost every kind of topographical feature including heavily forested areas of slash pines, pine scrub, pine flat woods, mangroves and river swamps. This trail travels through them all. Originally developed by its founder Clayton Jones in 1984, he spent 3 and a half years planning the trail. The trail opened for use in the Fall of 1988. Currently the trail is maintained by the Order of the Arrow, Aal-Pa-Tah Lodge Trail Crew.

SAFETY

The Trail will be fully marked with color ribbons, signage and trail volunteers.

We have 5 zones complete with aid stations, experienced trail-running volunteers and water.  First-aid and emergency staff are always on site.

RACE CHECK-IN

Race check-in should occur no later than 1 hour prior to your wave start time. You must bring ID and (if under 18) a signed waiver by a parent or legal guardian. If the competitor is between 8 and 12 years old, they must be accompanied by the adult who will be running on the course with them.

Waivers will be signed at registration.

Race Check-In will begin at 06:00 on site on race day.
