About This Event

Come join us for the VETERANS DAY HEREOES' 5K in beautiful Palm Springs, California. This 5K run/walk is runner, walker, stroller and doggie friendly. All monies raised support organizations that serve our active duty and veterans heroes, including Team Red, White and Blue, SOS Rides and the Armed Services YMCA. 
Our 5K includes a great race, tech t-shirt, finisher dog tag, flower presentation to you by an active duty military representative, MRE reusable goody bag , free photo downloads, great viewing of the City of Palm Springs Veteran's Day Parade, entertainment following the parade and a fireworks show!

Event details and schedule

Course

This fast and flat course starts and finishes at Francis Stevens Park in downtown Palm Springs, following the parade route that will begin shortly after the conclusion of our race. Enjoy each kilometer as you pay respect and honor to our military heroes.

Awards

All finishers will be awarded a dog tag finisher medal and presented with a flower at the finish line by an active duty military representative. Age group medals awarded 3-deep in 5 year age groups through 85 years +. Special categories for active military and challenged athletes.

T-Shirts

A military themed event tech T-shirt is included with your registration fee.

Packet pick-up

You may pick up packets for friends so long as you sign the waiver at pick-up. Packet pick-up will be held Friday, November 10th from 11AM - 5PM at Running Wild 611 S. Palm Canyon, Palm Springs. Running Wild is located in the corner unit of the Sun Center Shopping Plaza next to the Revivals store. Race day registration and late packet pick-up is available race day, on site, beginning at Noon at Frances Stevens Park 500 N. Palm Canyon. 
 

Post Race Parade, Entertainment and Fireworks!!!

Run or walk the 5K route as we salute our veterans and active duty military on Veteran's Day and then be prepared to party-on.! Stay for the parade, entertainment and fireworks show - all included with your race registration fee!

Directions and Parking

Ample parking is available near-by. The parade begins at 3:30PM and so race participants will be there plenty early to grab all the good parking spots! Frances Stevens Park, located at 500 N. Palm Canyon is the start/finish line of our race and the end of the parade route. Park on the side streets off Palm Canyon or Indian Ave. and you will have prime parking for the race and parade. 
 

Active Duty and Veterans

All active duty personnel and veterans run for half price! Just show your military ID, at packet pick-up or race day morning and you're in for half price! Sorry - no on-line registration for this discount as we need to verify your military status.
