The Barefoot Benefit 5k is an annual community event organized by current and former students of The University of Tennessee. Along with the 5k, a 1 mile fun run and fall festival are hosted, creating a great event for all age groups. While running barefoot is encouraged, it is not required. All proceeds from the event go towards Samaritan Place, a non-profit dedicated to providing shelter and support to low income seniors. Samaritan Place is one of the very few shelters in the United States where a complete continuum of care from emergency to long-term housing, as well as independent housing, is offered.
2017 race registration is open.
