Girls on the Run 5K

For the 8th year, Girls on the Run Saginaw Bay will host a 5K on Saturday, November 18, 2017 open to community runners and walkers. Affectionately known as the “Reindeer Run”, the event will take more than 1000 antlered participants through the streets of Downtown Saginaw. The 5K serves as the finale to the fall Girls on the Run season. Nearly 400 Girls on the Run participants from Saginaw, Bay and Arenac and Tuscola counties will run alongside 400 running buddies and 100 coaches, as these 3rd through 8th grade girls complete their 10 weeks of self-esteem and healthy lifestyle training that lead them up to the 5K. Girls on the Run seeks to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The goal is to create a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
