 _ 2017 Oley Valley Country Classic 10 Mile and 5K event:

Sunday November 12, 2017, the Pagoda Pacers are hosting the 23rd running of the Oley Valley Country Classic 10 Mile and 5k race!  Now on the second Sunday in November for the first time ever this event will again prove to be one to run, volunteer or spectate.   The changing leaves for the season will make a picture perfect course through the beautiful rolling hills of the Oley Valley. We welcome runners of all abilities and look forward to providing a great running experience for everyone.  Shirt, finisher item guaranteed for every pre registered runner….extras while supplies last.   All participants receive one Entry for FREE SNEAKER RAFFLE from Sneaker Villa and one entry for a plethora of door prizes. The race finishes on the Oley Valley Youth League fields to great post race hot and cold food.  This year’s race will represent the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) as the host to the 10 Mile Eastern Regional Championship.  Thank you to the RRCA for the continued to support.  Our generous sponsors are to be commended for their continued support of this event.  Bob Fisher Chevrolet,  Fleetwood Footcare Center, Gallen Insurance, Level Financial Partners and Reading Health Physicians Network, Sports Medicine, and shirts by Villa Grafix, you provide the support to make this race happen.    Thank you to all the runners who have participated in this race over the years we look forward to seeing you again this year and bring a friend!   This years awards are handmade by local artist Maggie Gallen.  They are one of a kind and something worth striving for.  While you are running your butt off for an award, if you break the course record in the ten Mile OR the 5K any male or female can win $150 from Gallen Insurance!  - Scenic roads through Oley Valley Farm country on rolling hills mostly flat, welcome all abilities. The 5k course is an abbreviated version of the same pretty scenery.  Race is held during the time of year when the leaves on the trees are changing for the fall season.  Its poetic and breathtaking and helps make it a beautiful run on country roads.   The race finishes on the Oley Valley Youth League fields to a nice post event picnic with hot food for all runners and a door prize extravaganza.

DIRECTIONS: GPS ADDRESS: 446 Bertolet Mill Rd. Oley PA 19547
From Reading & points west/south: Take Rt. 222 N Bypass to Rt. 12 East. Stay on Rt. 12; the 4 lane shortly turns into a 2 lane highway (Pricetown Road). About 6 miles later, turn right onto Rt. 73 East at the traffic light. Go about 5 miles; going past Oley. Take a left onto Bertolet Mill Rd. (look for race signs) to field.
From Allentown: Take Rt. 222 S to Rt. 662 (Moselem Springs). Go left onto Rt. 662 and stay on Rt. 662 (thru Fleetwood and Pricetown) until it reaches Rt. 73, just before Oley. Take left onto Rt. 73 E and stay it for approx 2.5M past Oley. Left onto Bertolet Mill Rd. (at “race” signs) to field.
From Philadelphia: 422 West until Rt. 100 North at Pottstown. Rt. 100 North to Gilbertsville exit (Rt. 73). Exit; go left onto Rt. 73 West, thru Boyertown. Go approx 8 miles past Boyertown on Rt. 73 to only stop light at Pleasantville. Approx 1.4 miles past that light, go right on Bertolet Mill Rd (look for race signs). 1/2 mile to field.

 - RRCA Eastern Regional Championship for the 10 Mile event.  Free pair of sneakers raffled; all participants get one entry.  Cash prize for breaking course record in the 10M or 5k event.  Lighted safety blinker to all pre-registered runners, great post race hot food.  AN event that you will come back to year after year!
