 _ The 2017 Great Race 5k Run/Walk presented by the Big Bend Track Club:

The Great Race was a part of the Forest Festival events in Perry back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. The club brought back this event in 2013 and continues each Forest Festival morning as a beautiful cool and sometimes cold 5k run in late October each year.

 - The 5k route takes runners on a winding course through historic downtown Perry, past the Taylor school district, crossing Jefferson Street alongside the beautiful Veteran’s Memorial Park, winding around and finishing on Jefferson Street amongst cheering spectators lined up for the Forest Festival parade.
