Welcome to the Hi5K - Thanksgiving Day Apple Cup 5K Run / Walk.

Just two days before the Dawg-Coug showdown at Husky Stadium, lets have a little friendly Apple Cup of our own.  Alumni, current students, supporters, fans, people - Join us for our first annual Thanksgiving Day Apple Cup 5K run / Walk.

There will be an Apple Cup Winner on this day.  The Huskies of U-Dub, or Cougars of WAZZU.  So, how does it work?

It's point-based on 2 factors - Skill and Participation. School with highest points win.  

Skill Factor Points:

30 pts for 1st male, and 30 pts for 1st female across the finish, then 29 pts for 2nd, 28 pts for 3rd, and so forth on down to 2 pts for 29th, and 1 pt for 30th. 930 pts are up for grabs here (465 for males and 465 for females)

Spirit (Participation) Factor Points:

After 30th place, all finishers will also contribute 1 point for their school.  This may be more important, 'cause sometimes your spirit gets the job done over your skill.  There will be hundreds of spirit points up for grabs here.  

This race is helping to support NorthwestHarvest.org. 

Northwest Harvest is Washington's own statewide hunger relief agency.  Their mission is leading the fight for hungry people statewide to have access to nutritious food while respecting their dignity and promoting good health. Their vision is ending hunger in Washington.  If you can donate a canned food item, we'll happily take it to them.

Event details and schedule

Race Day Schedule:

8:20AM - 9:10AM: Bib Pickup at Green Lake softball fieds (East side of Green Lake - Look for Hi5K Banner). You must have an ID to register or pick up your bib if you have pre-registered. You may also drop off any shoes, or canned food items you'd like to donate at this time.  There will also be Day-of-race registration available at this time as well.

9:30AM: 5K Race Start

10:00AM: Individual Awards, Recognition

10:30AM: Apple Cup Winner Anounced

9:50AM - 10:40AM: Post-Race Hydration and Fuel

Address to Start/Finish Area: 7351 East Green Lake Dr N, Seattle WA 98115

Course Info: Start on softball fields on the East side of Green Lake.  Run toward Green Lake path.  Complete 1 loop on Green Lake path and return to start/finish on softball fields. Flat course.
