Lisa's Army is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comfort to courageous individuals currently undergoing cancer treatments.  After being diagnosed at age 20, amidst her own battle with ovarian cancer, Lisa Loonstyn-Golden launched a crusade in the name of fighters everywhere.  She believed that no one should fight alone, so with the help of her family and friends, Lisa's Army was formed.  It is an organization dedicated to comforting men, women and children with cancer.  The goal of Lisa's Army is to make a difference in the world just like Lisa was able to accomplish in her short time with us.  Now we continue to fight in her name, and invite you to join our Army!  Lisa's favorite holiday was Halloween and she was affectionately called "Pumpkin".  In Lisa's memory, Lisa's Army holds The Pumpkins in the Park 5K every October to raise funds for our Comfort Care Packages.  The race brings together families and friends in their Halloween best to parade their costumes and enjoy the fall weather in Philadelphia's beautiful parks.  We have pumpkin decorating, costume contests, fundraising competitions, and a photo stand.  Please join us for kids' activities and enjoy music from a local DJ. Survivors and their loved ones are encouraged to stop by the Survivor Tent.  The beautiful course starts in front of the Please Touch Museum in Memorial Hall and winds through Fairmount Park's Horticultural Center, past the Japanese Tea House and finishes right in front of the Please Touch Museum.  Participating in the Pumpkins In the Park 5K Walk/Run is more fun when you share the experience with your co-workers, family, and friends. Your support is greater as a team because of your combined fundraising efforts! This year the top fundraising team wins your personal VIP Tent with breakfast!  Each individual (fundraising on a team or as an individual) who raises a minimum of $500.00 will have their race fee waived.  Check back here more additional fundraising incentives.  Cost: 5k Adult - $30, 5k Under 18 - $15, Zombie Runner/Walker - $25, Kids Halloween Spirit Sprint – Free.  T-shirt guaranteed with race entry for all who register by 10/7.
