Run for your life from flesh hungry Zombies through a 3.1 mile trail run where ZOMBIES are the obstacles!
Jan 20th 2018, The 5k Zombie Run returns to Sarasota for a fourth year!
Face your fear as you run from the undead through trails and wooded paths. The Zombies are ready and ravenous.
The choice is yours:
-Be a Runner (human) and run from the Zombies.
-Be a Zombie and pull the runner's flags as they run through your "Zombie Zone."
Runners wear 3 flags on a belt. Protect these flags, they’re your “life.” Zombies are staged throughout the course ready to chase you and steal your flags. Try to survive, if you can... Lose your flags, and you can still finish the course as a runner. Look for Safe Zones at mile markers 1 and 2 with water, and pick up an extra life flag! Prepare for walkers, runners, crawlers... and some surprises.
Choose to become a member of the Zombie Horde instead, and polish your human hunting skills while adorned in true flesh-eating fashion, compliments of the event's expert make-up team, followed by a visit to our Blood Splatter zone (both incl w/reg). Makeup is free of charge, though tips are appreciated!

The event will begin at 9:00 AM.
For the safety of all runners and zombies, we will release "mini waves" every few minutes until everyone has crossed the start line.
-Runners should arrive at 8:00 AM for check in.
Zombie shift is 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM.
-Zombies should arrive at 7:30 AM to allow time for check in, makeup application, training, and for a ride to their "Zombie Zone."
Packet Pickup will be at the run. Gates open and check-in begins at 8:00 AM.

Take I-75 to University Pkwy and go West. Turn South on N Cattleman Rd, Pass through 3 traffic circles. The Park will be on the right just South of the Town Center. Look for the signs.
WHAT YOU GET
All participants receive a t-shirt, finisher medal, and entry to the post-race apocalypse party complete with music, food, great vendors and a fun family atmosphere.
FREE, unlimited photo downloads after the event! We will have our team of photographers roaming the race course to catch all the action. $2 surcharge, required at registration, applies. IMPORTANT: Remember your bib # and wear it on your front, you will need it to search for your photos online after the run. It is up to YOU to remember your bib #, we do not keep record of it.

Can't make it to race day but still want the t-shirt & medal? Run a 5k when and where you want (no need to submit any proof, we trust you!) and after race day, we will send you an official 5k Zombie Run medal and t-shirt!
Spectators are free. Viewing areas are limited.
Coolers for refreshments will be allowed (no glass containers, please)
Parking is $5 cash per car and is collected by Nathan Benderson Park.
You will run on the trails around the lake.
Note: this is a fun run and the course is not a certified 5K and is not officially timed. We approximate the distance based on terrain and accessibility. The course is a little longer than 5K. It is 3.5 miles instead of 3.1 miles/5 kilometers.
For everyone's safety, strollers are not allowed.
Take the FUN RUN CHALLENGE!
Run both The 5k Zombie Run and The 5k Color Blast in the same day.
Add registration to The 5k Color Blast for $20.
The 5k Color Blast will be held at the same location in the afternoon following The 5k Zombie Run.
All FUN RUN CHALLENGE participants earn a THIRD special "challenge" medal!
2nd event must be added at registration before you checkout.
We have several volunteer opportunities.
Clubs, school groups, and organizations can volunteer during the event. Have a group that would like to volunteer? Please email us at [email protected] for availability.
Individuals can volunteer for pre-event setup help. Please begin your registration to see available shifts, descriptions of duties and to self register. Pre-event volunteers will earn a free entry to the run.

NO REFUND POLICY
We cannot issue refunds. The cost and logistics of setting up and planning the event make refunds impossible. The run will take place rain or shine, however please understand we are at the mercy of mother nature and county officials, so if conditions deteriorate to the point of becoming an unsafe environment for our participants, we will react accordingly. Safety will always take precedence.
In the event a race is postponed or rescheduled, your registration will be honored at a future event. A postponement/reschedule would only happen due to an event outside of our control (i.e., dangerous weather, acts of God...).
If you find that you are unable to use your registration, we are happy to transfer it to another person, to a future event, or donate your fee to our charitable partner, oneblood (formerly Florida Blood Services). You must email us PRIOR to the event at [email protected] for transfers.
